Information KiddOS May Access or Store
Depending on which features you use, KiddOS may access or store:
- Camera photos taken inside the app
- Photos imported by a parent from the device photo library
- Voice notes recorded in the Calendar feature
- Child profile information entered in the app, such as profile name, selected avatar, wallpaper, language, unlocked apps, and related preferences
- Local wallet state and nearby wallet transfer history stored on the device
- Nearby-device connection details needed for the local wallet feature
- YouTube links added by a parent in the KidTube feature
How KiddOS Uses This Information
KiddOS uses this information only to provide app features, including:
- Saving photos to the local in-app photo library
- Recording and playing back voice notes
- Saving profile and settings choices
- Enabling nearby wallet discovery and local transfers between devices
- Letting a parent curate and play KidTube content
Permissions KiddOS Requests
KiddOS may request access to:
- Camera, to let a child take photos inside the app
- Microphone, to record voice notes
- Photos or media library, to import photos into the app
- Local network and nearby network permissions, to discover and connect to nearby devices for wallet features
- Notifications, if the platform requires permission before showing them
- Limited location-related access on some Android versions, where nearby networking features depend on platform permission rules
KiddOS only requests these permissions for user-facing features in the app.
Storage and Sharing
KiddOS is designed to keep most content on the device.
- Photos, voice notes, profile settings, and wallet state are primarily stored locally on the device.
- KiddOS does not sell this information.
- KiddOS does not send this information to a developer-operated server based on the current app implementation in this repository.
Some features may involve third parties or other devices:
- If a parent uses KidTube, YouTube and Google may receive technical information needed to serve embedded video content. Their handling of data is governed by their own policies.
- If nearby wallet features are used, limited wallet and peer-connection data may be exchanged directly with nearby devices on the same local network in order to complete that feature.
Children's Privacy
KiddOS is intended for use by children with parent or guardian involvement. Parents or guardians
should supervise use of features that access the camera, microphone, photo library, local network,
or external video content.
Data Retention and Control
Because most data is stored locally, you can generally remove it by:
- Deleting photos or voice notes within the app, where supported
- Clearing app data or uninstalling the app from the device
If you share content or state with another nearby device through wallet features, copies on the
other device are controlled by that device's user.
Security
KiddOS relies on the device operating system, local app storage, and platform permission controls
to protect data stored by the app.
Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated if KiddOS features or data practices change. The latest
published version should be kept at the public URL listed in the app's store presence.
Contact
For privacy questions about KiddOS, use the developer support contact listed on the app's store
